Adelaide Torrens Road to River Torrens Project
Faster, safer travel.
The Project
An $800 million project jointly funded by The Australian and South Australian Governments to deliver a 4km non-stop roadway between Street, Croydon Park, and Ashwin Parade.
What it delivers
The project was designed to provide significant travel time saving to commuters and freight in the city of Adelaide and takes into consideration the future transport needs of the city allowing for connection to other parts of the non-stop North-South Corridor when the adjoining sections of South Road are upgraded in the future.
Key Challenges Addressed
This project was faced with the challenges of a live site with traffic constantly being diverted to allow for work to progress to schedule and the community to continue to function. This required significant project management and logistics expertise to enable the project to be delivered effectively. In many situations Castleross Construction worked with the client to identify innovative ways of ensuring productivity was maintained to meet the project’s needs.
Client
The project was delivered by the South Australian Government’s Department for Infrastructure and Main Roads. Castleross Construction was contracted by CPB Contractors who worked with the South Australian and Australian Governments to design and construct major works for this project.
