Transmission Gully

Australasia’s largest greenfield project

The Project

The $1.25 billion Transmission Gully Project in New Zealand involves the construction of a new 27-kilometre-long four-lane expressway and is one of the most significant pieces of new road construction in New Zealand.

What it delivers

The Project provides a vital link between Wellington and the Kapiti Coast and is aimed at enhancing regional connectivity, reducing travel times, and increasing the overall resilience of the local transport system. The project is set to have a transformative impact on the region’s economy and quality of life for residents and is a key part of New Zealand’s infrastructure development.

Client

The Transmission Gully Project in New Zealand was led by the New Zealand Transport Agency (NZTA) and Castleross Construction acted as a subcontractor to CPB Contractors and HEB Construction as part of the overall Wellington Gateway Partnership.

Key Challenges Addressed

Castleross Construction demonstrated an ability to work efficiently at speed while at the same time delivering great quality across our scope of work. This involved a dedication to upskilling and training local teams with little or no experience.

Our team members and leaders showcased their dedication to our clients by actively assisting in problem-solving and ensuring task completion posed by supply chain issues. As a result, our scope quickly increased to see the company responsible for delivering concrete work across the project.
